On a Quest to Uncover All the Memos that Britain and America Lost in the Pond

In 2008, Laurence Brown  was swept to America by the fickle hand of fate (and marriage), which means he’s now lived in the U.S. longer than O.J. Simpson has served jail time.

And so, because it seemed like a good idea at the time, he figured I'd document the whole thing on social media (not the O.J. part), which is where Lost in the Pond comes in.

The title “Lost in the Pond” refers to those things that were lost in translation between Laurence’s move from England to the USA. "The Pond" is just another way of referring to the Atlantic.

Partly on the strength of certain wildly popular videos,  Lost in the Pond has grown significantly since the days when only Laurence’s  mum watched. Today, thousands of utter strangers across the globe tune in for every upload on YouTube. They engage with every tweet, and often share personal stories of their own memos and experiences.

Whether he’s juggling British and American word differences, devouring each country's cuisine, or delving deeper into why each nation is the way it is, lost things are always found on Lost in the Pond.
